Factors affecting the installation of clamps

Oct 24,2025

A clamp is a connecting device used to connect grooved pipe fittings, valves, and pipeline fittings. It is used to tighten quick couplings, usually with gaskets, rubber, silicone, and PTFE between two couplings. It has good performance, high sealing, and simple installation.

A clamp is a connecting device used to connect grooved pipe fittings, valves, and pipeline fittings. It is used to tighten quick couplings, usually with gaskets, rubber, silicone, and PTFE between two couplings. It has good performance, high sealing, and simple installation.
Factors affecting the installation of clamps:
1. The clamp shall not have defects such as air holes, sand holes, shrinkage cracks, etc.
2. The diameter of the end pipe should be selected with a positive deviation, otherwise the clamping force on the sealing ring will be insufficient, which will affect the sealing effect of the joint.
3. The material and performance of the sealing ring must meet the requirements, and there should be no bubbles, impurities, cracks, unevenness or other defects on the sealing surface. Aging rubber rings cannot be used.
4. The splashing impurities during the welding of the end pipe and snap ring affect the sealing of the end pipe. Before installation, the welding slag on the sealing surface should be cleaned to ensure the sealing effect.
5. The theoretical movement distance of the clamp ring inside the clamp is half of the joint expansion and contraction amount, and it needs to be measured and measured. If it cannot meet the requirements of the pipeline expansion and contraction amount, it cannot be met.
In order to promote the sealing effect, the left and right end pipes are matched with clamps before leaving the factory. In actual engineering, it is not suitable to directly replace the end pipes with ordinary pipes. Moreover, there are requirements for the perpendicularity of the end pipe face to the axis and the flatness of the end face itself. If the size is not standardized, the expansion and contraction of the joint will be greatly reduced, which cannot meet the requirements for use

Disadvantages: The scope of mediation is small, there are too many specifications that are difficult to manage, and the steel wire is prone to cutting the rubber hose, which has now been basically eliminated.
